Oak Gallnut, ground galls, Quercus Infectoria For the pre-treatment of cellulose fibers the tannic acid is perfect for the pre-treatment of cellulose fibers to enhance the fixation of the mordant during the mordanting step. This tannin is light in finished dye color. For dyeing: Any fiber can be dyed with oak gallnuts. It does increase lightfastness of the resulting colors. Use ground galls at 10-12% WOF.
